Trump's immigration policy is one of the most generous in world history
January 28, 2026As I'm writing this, the Department of Homeland Security is offering $2,600 cash, free travel arrangements, and broad amnesty for anyone illegally residing in the United States. Recipients are free to choose when they leave, and are permitted to retain all property without penalty, and are free to return to the country through proper channels in the future.
This is probably the single-most generous treatments that any unlawful intruder has ever received in human society. To analogize this to a man's home, this is the equivalent of waking up to find a stranger in your home, harboring them for decades, providing them food and shelter as needed, then, after they start inviting their friends and families, asking them kindly to leave at their own convenience, and giving them a month's wages as a parting gift, plus an invitation to return for future dinner parties.
In contrast, the historical norm for unwelcome immigrants is for them to be declared outlaws as a group and killed on sight.
I'm personally a much bigger fan of the incredibly benevolent policy currently being pursued.
